Beginners

This class is taught by:

Lynne Knutzen-Young

The first yoga class I took was fifteen or so years ago. I wasn’t sure at that point what to think about yoga. Over the years, I continued to practice at different studios and in 2013, decided to gain a deeper understanding of yoga and take the 200 hr. teacher training at Lincoln Yoga Center. This is when I realized yoga was more to me than just a form of exercise. I delight in sharing my knowledge with friends, family and anyone interested in learning more about this ancient practice. My journey continues as I apply all aspects of yoga to my everyday life.

Joette Byrd

Joettes warm and welcoming style will invite you to stretch, strengthen, balance, move energy, release stress and tension, and cultivate peace and joy you can take with you back into the world. Her classes weave together the foundations of the basics with an interplay of body and mind, focus and flow, and strength and flexibility. While it's important to explore ones edge, she feels it's imperative to nurture a sustainable and balanced practice that will last a lifetime. She hopes to help students remember to pause, breathe, and take a look inside continually returning to the present experience.
Joette began her relationship with yoga in 2005- became certified in 2007- 200 hr. level.
She is working towards her 500 hr. level with Tias Little and Sarah Powers- Insight Yoga- a synthesis of traditional yoga, meditation, and eastern approaches to healing and well- being.
Blessed to study with many inspirational teachers, she feels that yoga itself is the ultimate teacher both on and off the mat... and a key lesson is to keep a sense of humor!

Katelynn Shumaker

Katelynn has been practicing yoga for the past 5 years and received her 200 hour teacher training from Lincoln Yoga Center in 2018. In that time her knowledge of yoga has evolved but the one thing that is omnipresent is the calming clarity that yoga brings to life. Practicing yoga brings her into her heart and helps her to remember love, compassion, wholeness and what it feels like to be still. As we practice together we will look inward and cultivate the omnipotent energy within our center to help one another ride the wave of life with grace.
Beginners Yoga is all levels of students who are interested in taking a beginner-level pace and practice. All skill levels welcomed.
